We’re excited to celebrate National Donut Day with you on Friday, June 2nd! We will be donating 10% of sales that day to local chapters of the Salvation Army, who created National Donut Day back in 1938 to help those in need during the Great Depression. The holiday honors the Salvation Army “lassies” who served coffee and donuts to soldiers during WWI, and are credited for popularizing donuts in the U.S. when the soldiers returned home. So make sure you stop by for donuts this Friday and know that together we’ll be raising money for a good cause!
This is also a good time to talk Donuts…which have been a part of the fabric of our culture since they were invented by Hanson Gregory back in 1847. From LA’s iconic Randy’s Donuts sign to The Simpsons, the donut has made many a cameo and been the subject of many conversations in television and film. Here are some classic scenes and conversations from our favorite snack.
